Dataset summary built from 166(good)/183 datasets

- eQNR responses self-sorted into the two, primary Research Groups:
- DI - students who identified themselves as presenting Dyslexia. This is RG:DI and 68 eQNR responses were received.
- ND - students indicating that they had no learning challenges or had learning challenges other than dyslexia. This is RG:ND and 98 eQNR responses were received.
- Research Group: DNI is a subgroup of RG:ND and these students were identified through the Dyslexia Index (Dx) value that their replies generated. The boundary point for skimming these responses was Dx = 600.
- A second subgroup of RG:ND has been established and this is students who presented a Dyslexia Index of Dx < 400. This subgroup is labelled RG:ND-400. Comparisons will be made against this subgroup as students presenting this low Dx value can be safely considered as presenting very low levels of dyslexic attributes - that is, they do not present a dyslexic learning difference.
- Datasets from RG:DNI will be compared with datasets from RG:DI which present a Dyslexia Index of Dx > 600 (and this subgroup of RG:DI is designated RG:DI-600), and datasets in RG:ND-400.
[summary table 2 below]
- Students in RG:DI presented a Dyslexia Index (Dx) in the range: 357 < Dx < 922 with a sample mean Dx = 653, a 95% confidence interval for the population mean Dx of 623.41 < Dx < 682.51 and a median Dx = 676; n = 68, Dx-min = 0, Dx-max = 1000.
- RG:DI presented an Academic Behavioural Confidence (ABC) score in the range: 26 < ABC < 92 with a mean ABC = 58.45, 95% confidence interval for the population mean ABC of 54.77 < ABC < 62.12, and median ABC = 56.79; n = 68, ABC-min = 0, ABC-max = 100.
- The subgroup of RG:DI which comprises students presenting Dx > 600, (designated research group RG:DI-600, n=46), has been used to generate the dyslexic students' mean values for the 6 psychometric scales measured in the eQNR, for the purpose of generating the reference profile for all the Profile Charts.
- This subgroup, DI-600, students within which are being considered as most certainly presenting a strong dyslexic learning difference, has mean Dx = 723.6, with a 95% confidence interval for the population mean Dx of 694 < Dx < 753, and a median of Dx = 720; students in this research group presented a mean ABC = 57.45 with 95% confidence interval 53.09 < ABC < 61.82; n=46. It is this research (sub)group that will constitute the 'control' against which the parameters under observation will be compared with research group RG:DNI since both these research (sub)groups comprise students who present Dx > 600.
- Student in research group RG:ND presented a Dyslexia Index in the range: 100 < Dx < 910 with a mean Dx = 454, 95% confidence interval for the population mean: 423 < Dx < 485, and median Dx = 425; students in this research group presented a mean ABC = 67.73, 95% confidence interval for the population mean ABC of 64.99 < ABC < 70.47, and median ABC = 66.96.
- Students in research group RG:DNI, (that is, a subgroup of RG:ND comprising students presenting Dx > 600) presented a Dyslexia Index in the range 607 < Dx < 910 with a mean Dx = 691, 95% confidence interval for the population mean: 655 < Dx < 727, and median Dx = 653; students in this research group presented a mean ABC = 64.84 with a 95% confidence interval for the population mean ABC of 58.75 < ABC < 70.93, and a median ABC = 61.7; n = 17.
- A further subgroup of research group RG:ND has been established, this being students presenting a Dyslexia Index Dx < 400, who are considered as almost certainly NOT presenting dyslexic learning differences. Datasets from this subgroup have been used to generate the NON-dyslexic students' mean values for the 6 psychometric scales measured in the eQNR, for the purpose of generating the reference profile for all the Profile Charts. This research (sub)group is designated research group RG:ND-400, n = 43. Students in this subgroup presented a mean Dx = 309 with a 95% confidence interval for the population mean Dx of 289 < Dx < 329, and a median Dx = 322; students in this research (sub)group presented a mean ABC = 72.19 with a 95% confidence interval for the population mean: 68.46 < ABC < 75.92, and a median ABC = 73.79.
